Knife Care and Maintenance:

Damascus steel has a high carbon content, providing superior edge retention and strength. However, it is important to note that high carbon steel is susceptible to rust when exposed to moisture. To ensure the longevity of your Damascus steel knives, follow these simple care instructions:

Cleaning: Wash your knives with warm water and mild dish soap immediately after use. Dry them thoroughly with a clean towel to prevent moisture buildup.

Oil Coating: After cleaning and drying, apply a thin coat of mineral oil to the blade to protect against rust and corrosion. Mineral oil is recommended for its affordability, food-safe properties, and resistance to spoiling. Avoid using cooking oils for long-term storage due to their tendency to spoil.

Rust Removal: In the event that rust appears on your knife, do not panic. Simply rub the affected area with apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, then wash and dry the blade as usual. Reapply oil to restore its protective layer.

Storage: Avoid storing your knives in leather rolls for extended periods, as leather can retain moisture and promote rust formation. If storing in a leather roll is necessary, apply a generous coat of oil to the blade before storage.
